Theo Joyce Baker

Theo Joyce Baker, 87, of Temple passed away on Saturday January 4, 2014 at her residence. Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday January 8, 2014 at First Baptist Church of Belton with Pastor Mel Plunk officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-7 P.M. Tuesday January 7, 2014 at Crotty Funeral Home in Belton. Theo Joyce Baker was born on September 30, 1926 in Vernon, Texas to Murrell and Maudel (Valentine) Henry. She married Robert D. Wells in June of 1943 and he preceded her in death on July 26, 1996. She married Robert J. Baker and he preceded her in death on January 26, 2008. Mrs. Baker worked as a switchboard operator and supervisor over the service reps for South Western Bell in Vernon, Odessa and Lubbock, TX. from 1944 until 1978. Her and her husband , Robert J. Baker moved to Temple in 1983. She worked for TCBY as an accountant from 1988 until her retirement in 2000. Survivors are her daughter, Cynthia Wells of Temple; one brother, Jerry Henry of Wichita Falls, TX.; one sister, Judy Standridge of Temple; one great granddaughter, Sarah Inman and husband Price of Georgetown; two great great grandchildren, Clayton and Carter Inman both of Georgetown She was preceded in death by two husbands; two sons, Larry D. Wells in June 1960 and Bobby Lee Wells in September 23, 2011 and one granddaughter, Susan Kay Owens in June of 1993. Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. Friday, January 10, 2014 in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa, TX. with Pastor Paul Kenley officiating. Crotty Funeral Home of Belton is in charge of arrangements.
