Thomas Richard Blass

Thomas Richard Blass, 70, of Salado passed away on November 7, 2012 in a Temple hospital. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at Crotty Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Belton with Chaplain John Tidball officiating. His body was cremated. Thomas Richard Blass was born on January 31, 1942 in Hudson, NY to Cecil and Emily (Piester) Blass. He joined the U.S. Army on January 17, 1963 in Albany, NY and retired on June 30, 1983 in Ft. Hood TX..serving in Korea and Vietnam. He married Denny Roe on August 12, 1972 in Belton.Tx. After retirement from the military he worked as Head Maintenance for Chapel Hill and Barge Properties for 20 years. Survivors are his wife, Denny Blass of Salado; one son, Thomas Richard Blass Jr now serving in Afghanistan; two daughters, Cheryl Caballero and Laurie Burrier Kissire both of Temple; two brothers, James Blass of Copake, NY and Gerald Blass of Chatham, NY; two sisters, Mary Linda Harrington of Philmont, NY and Wendy Dodds-Green of Hillsdale, NY; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
