SGM Thomas “Paul” Guillory was born on October 26, 1944, to Paul and Nancy Guillory in Orange, Texas. He completed his earthly journey peacefully on Monday, June 22, 2026.
Thomas spent his early years in Orange, Texas, where he attended Saint Theresa Grade School and later graduated from Emma H. Wallace High School. Following graduation, he answered the call to serve his country by entering the United States Army.
Thomas dedicated twenty-seven years and one day of honorable service to the United States Army, including three tours in Vietnam. His military career was marked by courage, discipline, leadership, and devotion to duty. During his service, he was awarded numerous honors and decorations, including the National Defense Service Medal, Parachute Badge, Combat Infantry Badge, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, NCO Professional Development Ribbon, Meritorious Service Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, Drill Sergeant Badge, Army Commendation Medal, Bronze Star Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, Silver Star Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry, and Good Conduct Medal.
While serving in the military, Thomas married his beloved wife, Sandra Floyd, on May 28, 1966. Together they built a life rooted in love, family, and faith, and were blessed with three sons: Thomas Davis, Thomas Guillory Jr., and Marc Guillory.
After a distinguished military career and many adventures in Army life, Thomas retired on July 31, 1989. He remained active in his community and was a proud member of the VFW, the Masons, the Shriners, and St. Paul Chong Hasang Catholic Church.
Thomas took great pride in his family and cherished the love and memories they shared. He is lovingly remembered by his sons, Thomas P. Davis (Diann) of Houston, Texas, Thomas P. Guillory Jr. (Ai) of Tokyo, Japan, and 1SG Marc C. Guillory (Derrielle) of Dothan, Alabama; his brothers , James C. Guillory (deceased Warlean), Larry W. Guillory, Richard K. Guillory (Deborah); his sisters, Olivia E. Collins (Jerry), Nancy D. Whitt (Mark), Dianna M. Guillory, and Vanessa D. Guillory (Kevin/“KP”); his grandchildren, Aaron Black, Tia DeBlasio (Michael), Sandreia Guillory, Marica Guillory (Dustin); and his great-grandchildren, Michael DeBlasio Jr., Gabriel DeBlasio, Azrael DeBlasio, and Zadkiel DeBlasio.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Nancy Guillory, and his brothers, SP4 James “J.C.” Guillory and Larry Guillory.
He is survived by many in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The Guillory and Floyd families would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to all who have traveled near and far to celebrate Thomas’ homegoing, and to those who have offered prayers, condolences, and support during this time.
