Juanita Davenport, a loving mother, devoted friend, and dedicated Periodontal Surgical Assistant for over 22 years in Florida, passed away on August 17, 2023, in Temple, Texas. She was born on May 15, 1941, in Germany and later obtained her U.S. citizenship. Juanita's journey was one of resilience and achievement as she embraced her education and pursued her passion for assisting in surgical procedures.
Growing up in Germany, Juanita attended school there before embarking on a new chapter by moving to the United States in her twenties. She enrolled in college and acquired the necessary certifications to become a skilled Periodontal Surgical Assistant. Her commitment to excellence in her field shone through every procedure she participated in.
Outside of work, Juanita was a woman of many talents and interests. One couldn't help but admire her wicked sense of humor that could brighten even the dullest days. She had an incredible love for caring for animals; from tending to wild birds to nurturing plants and even taking care of horses and dogs at the family ranch. Her compassionate nature extended far beyond humans, encompassing all creatures great and small.
Juanita's proudest accomplishment undoubtedly lay in raising her two daughters with unwavering love and support. Zena O'hea of Troy, TX and Glenda Greenlee of Ocala, FL were fortunate to have such a devoted mother who instilled values of kindness and perseverance.
In her final days, Juanita showed immense strength as she fiercely battled against cancer. Sadly, an unexpected illness arose that swiftly took her from us. Her passing is felt deeply by all those whose lives she touched; however, we find solace knowing that she is at peace now.
A family burial service will take place at the E-W Legacy Ranch Family Cemetery located at 3580 Luther Curtis Rd., Troy, TX 76579 on August 29, 2023. The service will commence at 7:00 PM, providing an opportunity for family and friends to gather and pay their respects to the extraordinary woman who graced their lives.
Juanita is preceded in death by her parents, who undoubtedly welcomed her with open arms as she entered the peaceful realm beyond. She leaves behind cherished memories in the hearts of her surviving family and friends who will forever hold her close. In addition to her daughters Zana O'hea and Glenda Greenlea, Juanita is survived by her brother, Klaus Arnold of Baveria, Germany, and her sister, Margit Arnold Ringo of Lodi, CA.
A special thanks to the Crotty Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Belton and to Sharon at the City of Temple for making Juanita's final wishes come true.
In remembrance of Juanita's remarkable life, may we find inspiration in her dedication, compassion, and zest for living. Her legacy will continue to thrive through the lives she touched and the memories she created. She will forever be fondly remembered as Juanita – a beacon of love and strength.
