April 26, 1940 ~ June 11, 2021 (age 81)


Donald E. McElhiney,81, of Gatesville went to be with the lord on Friday, June 11, 2021, at his residence after a long illness. He was born on April 26, 1940 to Henry and Vida McElhiney in Moberly,MO. He spent most of his childhood in Wyoming. Donald graduated from Centralia High School. He married the love of his life Sandy Andrews on November 28, 1981, in Lyons, KS. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Donald worked as a heavy machine operator, commercial truck driver, and an ordained minister in International Full Gospel Fellowship for most of his life. Donald will be dearly missed.

Friends and family will gather for a celebration of his life at 1:00P.M. on Wednesday, June 16, 2021, at  J & M Hill Country Bar-B-Q located at 2601 E Main St #2629, Gatesville, TX 76528.

Waiting for him in Heaven are his parents, infant daughter, and son, Gale Franklin Bruner.  

He is survived by his loving wife, Sandra McElhiney of Gatesville; his sons, Donald Eugene McElhiney of Idaho, Daniel Edwin of Shelbina,MO, Deral Eric McElhiney of Raymore,MO, Scott Reddig of Great Bend ,KS, and Stacy Reddig of Moore ,OK; his daughter, Dana Elaine Garcia of Harlingen,TX; seventeen grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
