Maria Diaz, a beacon of love and faith, was born on July 20th, 1968, in San Antonio, Texas, and passed away in the loving arms of her husband on April 21st, 2023, in Copperas Cove, Texas. Maria was preceded in death by her parents, Rafael Perez Sr. and Juanita Garza Perez, her mother-in-law, Lenor Davenport, her father-in-law, Roberto Diaz, her sisters, Amalia and Irene Perez, and her brothers, Bernal, Heraclio, Robert, Johnny and Leonardo Perez.

She is survived by her loving husband, Edward Diaz of Copperas Cove; her son, Jonathan Perez and family of San Antonio; her steps sons, Eddie Diaz his wife, Petra of Killeen, and Edward Diaz and his wife, Pricilla of North Carolina; her brothers, Ralph Perez Jr., and Tomas Perez ; her sisters, Eva Perez, and Roberta Rodriguez; her two sister in laws, Linda Shurbet and her husband, Jerry of Temple, Sandra Palacio and her husband, Joe of Killeen, two granddaughters, and five grandsons who will carry on her legacy of love and faith.

Maria's life was a shining example of the power of love, as she devoted herself to her family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, always putting the needs of others before her own. Her love for her family was evident in the way she cared for them, always making sure they were well-fed, well-loved, and well-prayed for.

Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, providing her with the strength and guidance she needed to face each day. Maria was an avid reader of the Bible, finding solace and inspiration in its pages. She prayed for her family daily, lifting them up to the Lord and asking for His blessings and protection. Her faith-filled life was a testament to the power of prayer and the importance of trusting in God's plan.  In her spare time, Maria enjoyed spending time with her family, whether it was sharing a meal, or simply sitting together and talking. She cherished these moments and believed that it was in these small, everyday interactions that the bonds of love and family were strengthened. Her dedication to her family was unwavering, and her love for them was a constant source of inspiration and motivation for all who knew her.
