Vertie Nadean Gregg, 75, of Belton, Texas passed away on Friday, September 17th, 2021 in her home surrounded by family.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, October 8, 2021 at Crotty Funeral Home in Belton with Pastor H.K. Ballard officiating.
Vertie Nadean was born in Port Lavaca, Texas on April 1, 1946, to Jesse Marvin and Althea Beatrice Harvell. While living in Port Lavaca Vertie Nadean worked alongside her mother, and her sisters, Fannye and Judy at their family-owned restaurant. In her later years Vertie became an accomplished seamstress. She enjoyed making clothes for her niece, Kimberly and her daughter, Julie. She truly loved to sew. Vertie Nadean was a long-time member of Tops Tx 1523 and Tops Tx 364. She also enjoyed making many costumes for Tops members. Vertie Nadean was crazy about her family and had spent her last years surrounded by her great grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Luther Gregg of Belton; one daughter, Julie Lynch of Belton; one son, Ralph E. Jackson and wife Gayla of Temple; one sister,Judy Nan Winkler and her husband, Frank, of Hondo; one brother, David Lee Harvell and his wife, Dee, of Hewitt; her granddaughters, Althea Kassandra Lynch and husband William Franklin of Rogers , Allison Elaine Crouch of Belton and one grandson Austin Quaid Jackson of Temple; two great grandsons, Owen Parker and Cullen Dean Franklin both of Rogers; two great granddaughters, Kynleigh Grace and Karley Ann Klunk both of Belton.
She is proceeded in death by her parents, Althea Beatrice Harvell and Jesse Marvin Harvell Sr; one son, Marvin Lee Wix; one sister, Fannye Elizabeth Williams; two brothers, Felix William Harvell & Jesse Marvin Harvell Jr.
