Gordon Roy Brown, lovingly known to family and friends as Roy, passed away on May 12, 2026, in Harker Heights, Texas. Born on July 11, 1956, in Killeen, Texas, Roy lived a life marked by dedication, humor, and deep love for his family and community.
From a tender age, Roy showed a strong work ethic, assisting with milk and ice cream deliveries at just ten years old. This early start blossomed into a lifelong career as he devoted over 50 years to Borden, faithfully delivering milk to schools and local grocery stores. His commitment to his work was unwavering, and through his efforts, he forged numerous meaningful relationships with customers, always greeting them with kindness and a warm smile.
Roy’s personality was as vibrant as it was genuine. He was hardworking and never met a stranger, embodying a spirit of openness and connection. His quick wit and lighthearted jokes had a magical way of lifting the spirits of those around him, no matter the challenges they faced. His ability to bring laughter and joy stood as a testament to his big heart and infectious warmth.
In addition to his dedicated career, Roy served his country with honor in the U.S. Army from 1980 to 1986, a period of his life that he held with great pride and respect. Beyond work and service, Roy cherished his hobbies and interests. He delighted in tending to cactus plants and collecting eagles, a passion that reflected his appreciation for nature’s beauty. His beloved dogs – Draco, Bo Boo, and Lucky – brought him immense companionship and joy.
Roy’s proudest accomplishments centered on his family, his military service, and the strong bonds he nurtured throughout his life. Surviving him are his loving sons, Gordon Roy Brown Jr. of Killeen and Robert William Foster of Temple; his daughters, Glendia Kay Treat of Chilton, Ashley Raye Brown of Killeen, and Christina Lee Hay of Belton. He is also survived by his cherished brothers, Edward Eugene Brown of Killeen, his fourteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and his faithful dog, Boo Boo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Dorothy Brown; his brothers, James Henry Brown, John Danny Brown, and Jesse David Brown; his sister, Nancy May Whalen; and his loyal dogs Draco and Lucky.
Services are pending at this time.
Roy’s legacy is one of love and light—a man who worked tirelessly, served his country valiantly, and above all, made the world a better place by simply being himself. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of all who knew him.
